What We Offer

One Practice.
Every Piece You Need.

Every family gets the full spectrum of care, shaped around your child’s clinical picture and the way your family actually lives.

Functional Behavior Assessment

A BCBA-led intake that brings together a caregiver interview, direct observation, and a skills assessment. We start by mapping your child’s strengths, then prioritize the goals that fit your family’s real life.

Caregiver Training

The heart of everything we do. We coach you through the strategies and the language to support your child in real time, inside the everyday routines where it counts most.

Behavior Support

Individualized plans that get to the root of challenging behavior instead of just the surface. Function-based, assent-based, and designed to work in a real home, not just on paper.

Skill Building

We target the communication, social, daily living, and safety skills that fit your child’s stage, then teach them to carry over across people, places, and everyday routines.

Progress Monitoring

Your BCBA gathers data in session while you capture it in everyday moments at home. Those two streams come together to drive every adjustment and every decision we make.

Care Coordination

We share progress notes, join IEP and 504 meetings, and stay in step with the rest of your child’s care team. We work right alongside them, never instead of them.

Inside Our Sessions

What A Week With Us Actually Looks Like

Every week includes at least two sessions: a Parent + Child Session and a Parent-Only Session. One brings live coaching straight into the moments that feel hardest at home. The other gives you and your BCBA time to step back, see how things are really going, and plan what comes next. Together, they keep progress moving.

Parent + Child Session

Live · 1 hour

What it looks like

You bring a real moment from your day: bedtime, mealtime, homework, a tricky transition. Your BCBA observes, then coaches you in real time as you work through it with your child. Strategies are modeled, practiced, and adjusted while it’s actually happening.

A typical session

  • 5 minWe start by catching up on how your week went
  • 10 minYou practice last week’s strategy while your BCBA watches
  • 25 minLive coaching as you work through a real routine together
  • 10 minYour BCBA models the approach and what to repeat at home
  • 5 minYou leave with a clear focus to practice this week
  • 5 minDebrief while your BCBA completes clinical notes

What we target

We start with whatever feels loudest in your house right now, the everyday moments that have been wearing on your family. Common targets include:

  • Tantrums & Meltdowns
  • Transitions
  • Communication
  • Following Directions
  • Bedtime Routines
  • Mealtime Behaviors
  • Toileting
  • Social Play
  • Safety Skills
  • Functional Language
  • Emotional Regulation
  • AAC Use

Parent-Only Session

Strategy · 1 hour

What it looks like

No child in the session. Just you and your BCBA, on secure video, talking honestly about what’s working, what isn’t, and what to try next. This is where data gets reviewed, plans get adjusted, and you’re prepped for what’s coming up at home.

A typical session

  • 5 minWe talk honestly about how the week went and what came up
  • 15 minWe look together at the data you both gathered this week
  • 15 minYour BCBA walks you through the next strategy in plain language
  • 10 minYou role-play or troubleshoot a moment that’s been tricky
  • 10 minTogether you set the goals and practice for the week ahead
  • 5 minDebrief while your BCBA completes clinical notes

What we target

This is the thinking behind the doing, where we step back to understand why a behavior is happening and how best to respond to it. Common topics include:

  • Plan Adjustments
  • Reading Behavior Data
  • ABC Analysis
  • Reinforcement Choices
  • Setting Realistic Goals
  • Sibling Dynamics
  • School Advocacy
  • Caregiver Burnout
  • Long-Term Planning
  • Outside-Provider Coordination

At Least Two Sessions A Week

This Is The Rhythm Of Real Progress.

Every week starts with at least two sessions: a Parent + Child Session and a Parent-Only Session. That is our minimum. If your BCBA sees that your child clinically needs more hours, they will recommend them. The focus always stays on what is clinically appropriate and on teaching you the skills to support your child.

Honest About Scope

What We Don’t Do

Good clinical care is as much about knowing your scope as it is about doing the work. Here’s what falls outside ours, and where to look instead.

In-Person Clinic Sessions

We’re a fully telehealth practice. Every session happens via secure video in your home.

Try Instead

An in-clinic or in-home ABA provider in your area

30 to 40 Hour/Week Intensive Models

Our model is built for sustainable, lower-hour caregiver-mediated care, not high-volume clinic programming.

Try Instead

A center-based or in-home ABA team offering comprehensive programming

RBT-Only Direct Delivery

Every session is led by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. We don’t hand sessions off to less-credentialed staff.

Try Instead

Clinic-based or in-home providers offering RBT delivery with BCBA oversight

In-Person Crisis Response

We can’t physically intervene during a behavioral crisis. Severe safety needs require an in-person team.

Try Instead

A center-based or in-home provider with crisis-trained staff

Diagnostic Evaluations

We don’t conduct ASD or developmental diagnoses. We can begin services pre-diagnosis through private pay.

Try Instead

A developmental pediatrician, neuropsychologist, or psychologist

Speech, OT, or PT Therapy

ABA is one piece of the puzzle. We coordinate with your other providers but don’t replace them.

Try Instead

A licensed SLP, OT, or PT, often available through your pediatrician’s referrals

Still Not Sure?

We’ll help you find the right fit, even if it isn’t us.

Talk Through It

On the Horizon

What’s Coming Next

We’re building toward a fuller continuum of support for the families we serve. These services aren’t available yet, but they’re on the way. As Lone Star ABA grows, we want to bring more of what your family needs into one place, so you spend less time piecing care together across separate providers. Each one will be led by licensed professionals and carry the same caregiver-focused approach you already see in our ABA work today.
